TAKE A HIKE IN ANTIPOLO

Ever wondered of trying something different this summer? Instead of the usual swimming outing, why not take a hike? Prolly, you must be thinking about why the hell would I stress myself out there and where the fuck am I going to find myself some badass mountain to cling to? Well that wouldn't be a problem.

This last Holy Week, my family dared to take the road less traveled, well for our family. We visited the mountains of Antipolo. Yes, Antipolo City, The one on the signboards of jeepneys in Ortigas Center. For us beginners, we decided to settle on somewhere near and convenient. Who knows that you could experience hiking somewhere near in Metro Manila? I think this is why people don't consider hiking as their options when it comes to summer getaways, it's expensive, stressful and difficult. Partly, yes, it's difficult, you can't take that out of hiking but the feeling of reaching the peak of the mountain, indulging yourself with the breath-taking scenery, creating moments that you can tell your future children, priceless.

As we go deeper to every barangays, we go farther from modernization.

The hanging bridge that rocked my interns out.

Up and down pavements.

Wild Pineapple.

I felt that movie-like feels here.

We stumble upon a well on our adventure, we tried the water and yes it's potable and very refreshing. It's like the whole well has a fridge inside, the water was as cold as the ones in our refrigerator.

And of course, why not take advantage of the place and take selfies?

What will you do if the only way out is a rocky creek?

It has been a wonderful adventure. What I felt that day was extremely different from how I felt when it comes to traveling before. It's like I discovered the missing piece in my vein, though I didn't find the whole piece here, but that day, it gave me a glimpse of what I'm maybe looking for. And I will continue what I've started. I'll never stop. And someday, I will find what that thing is. Someday in far off place. So don't stop at your comfort zone, go out on an adventure and maybe someday you'll bump into a life changing moment and you will thank yourself from heading towards the doorways. I know, I may not be home, I may miss home, but I'm sure what's in the end, it will all be worth it. #WANDERLUST
